Artist Programme

Collective 26

About the Artist Programme

The Collective Gallery Artist Programme is a year-long, artist-led initiative designed to support artists in developing, exhibiting and collaborating within a shared gallery environment.

As a grassroots, community-based gallery in the heart of St Albans, Collective Gallery provides a platform for artists to showcase their work, engage with the public and work collaboratively on exhibitions, workshops and creative projects. The programme encourages experimentation, dialogue and peer support, offering artists the opportunity to grow their practice in a supportive and inclusive setting.

Artists on the programme work together to plan and deliver exhibitions throughout the year, including both solo and group shows. Members are actively involved in the running of the gallery, contributing to decision-making, exhibition planning and gallery staffing on a rota basis. This shared responsibility is central to the ethos of the programme and helps foster a strong, collaborative community.

Exhibitions typically change every four weeks, ensuring the gallery remains dynamic and engaging for visitors.
