Welcome to Abbey Fliers, a vibrant community art project created by the Abbey Line Community Rail Partnership (CRP) in collaboration with Collective Gallery. This exhibition celebrates the rich and varied birdlife found along the ‘Abbey Flyer’ railway route between St Albans Abbey and Watford Junction.
The open-call exhibition brings together artworks submitted by local residents and artists of all ages - paintings, drawings, photographs and mixed media. Each piece is inspired by the feathered characters who share our stations, gardens, and green spaces. From tiny garden visitors, wetland wonders to impressive urban raptors, these birds help make the Abbey Line a living, breathing wildlife corridor.
The online exhibition and installation at both stations will be open from 12pm on Monday 1st June! The exhibition will be showing until at least the end of August and may be extended past that date!
