Gallery & Events Volunteering

Volunteering with us is an opportunity for students and those who are interested in learning more about the arts or developing a career. It is ideal for those who are local to the area to get more involved in the community and its history. 

Volunteers at Collective Gallery will gain hands on experience in a unique artistic hub in St Albans.

As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to undertake shifts based on a rota that is based around volunteer's availability. Full day shifts are available between 10am to 4pm and between 6pm to 9pm for events and exhibitions.

As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to:

  • Welcome visitors to the gallery

  • Interact with visitors/ community groups and ensure they are having an enjoyable time

  • Take part in events, workshops, talks, private views and exhibitions

  • Be involved in the installation/ de- installation of exhibitions and events

  • Gain experience promoting the sales of art works

We are looking for people who:

  • Enjoy meeting people and interacting with the public

  • Have an interest in the arts

  • Are friendly and reliable

  • Are able to take on at least one shift every two weeks

Collective Gallery can offer:

  • Hands on experience of working in a unique gallery and art project space

  • Reimbursement of travel and food expenses for event volunteering

  • Confidence building through interacting with visitors and experience of sales
